When I woke up with 2:43 flashing on the clock radio, I wasn't sure at first if it was morning or night.
I lay there for a while listening to the TV which I soon ascertained to be the Polish version of Hanna Montana which, it turns out, is more amusing than the English version.
Navigated my way across the empty bottles of Grodziskie beer to the window and ascertained - just - that it was morning.
I opened the curtains a little and could feel the chill fighting to come through the window. I went and turned up the thermostadt before going to the bathroom and running up a huge hot bath.
My head is still pounding with the memory of Xao and Gupta knocking on my door last night trying to get some money from me. They were in a bad way, cussing and making a spectacle of themselves. I just turned down the TV and pretended not to be in. Don't think I was fooling anybody.
The billowing steam did help me to revive somewhat, and I put on my cotton gown and returned into the cornucopia of brown that is my room here at the Poznan Sheraton.
Don't know what's going on at the meetings, but am just sick of everybody: Jim from San Francisco, always trying to make friends by giving money away and then wondering why no-one likes him; Jonah from Tuvalu always trying to put guilt trips on us; and Xao and Gupta and their appalling behaviour.
Rang room service and ordered a big bowl of nachos, a hamburger with the lot, large fries with cheese, and a strawberry milkshake. Turned the television onto MTV and fed myself till I started to feel better.
